Accessibility

Last updated 28 October 2026.

We want everyone to be able to use Beaquaro, on a phone, a tablet or a computer, with a keyboard, a screen reader or a touch screen. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not had an independent audit yet, so we do not claim that we meet it fully.

What we do

  • Every field has a label, every icon button has a name, and the main navigation has the same labels on every screen size.
  • You can use the app with a keyboard, and the focus is always visible.
  • Buttons and links are at least about 40 pixels tall on phones, and small switches and links have a larger tap area than they look.
  • Light and dark themes, and text that scales with your browser’s text size.
  • Nothing important is shown by colour alone, and animation is turned off if your device asks for less motion.

What we know is not yet right

  • We have not measured every colour pair for contrast.
  • The video editor and the drag-and-drop calendar are harder to use with a keyboard or screen reader than the rest of the app.
  • Some small text links and switches on phones are still smaller than the 44 pixel guideline, although they have a bigger tap area.
  • Charts have a text table for screen readers, but it is not always as clear as the picture.
